The foundation of a new project by Shorin and Provotoorv is the video with specially prepared by artists “dinner” for birds. This video with feeding birds, being around a table with a white tablecloth, is the main illustration for the title of the exhibition. Series of photos “Birds” by Provotorov, where women look like birds and series of canvases by Shorin, where birds are like women, improvised installation of birds’ bazaar for people and the sound of the project are the continuation of the main part, video.

Dmitriy Shorin, an artist, and Dmitriy Provotorov, a photographer, are young, but well-known enough. The last exhibition of Shorin in Saint – Petersburg took part in the State Russian Museum, he is a nominee for Kandinskyi award 2009 (“Project of the year”), the gallery “Green Art” in a new Mecca of contemporary art, Perm, opened the exposition with his works. Provotorv works especially in the sphere of photography, he is less well – known, but his works are popular in the both capitals. Works of these authors are presented in the great museum collections and in the reputable privet ones. They know the rules of the “game” in the contemporary art and don’t want to observe it. Once had created a joint project “Mannequins” (format silkscreen with the photo by Provotorov, pictorially finished by Shorin), artists started to work in the one direction. In this sense the exposition is some kind of continuation birds’ theme in the vision of Shorin, like the great grub, and Provotorov one, like women-birds.

Artists say about the exhibition: “It is known that people always envy birds. Always. In eagles and gold eagles people value their sight and daring, in penguins – cold resistance and grace, in pelicans and pigeon – gathering, in swans and flamingoes…it is better not to say. There are a lot of different birds and all of them are beautiful. And all of them fly! We made everything: burned Icarus, promoted Leonardo’s machine and some centuries after crucifixion we started to fly on TU, airbuses, shuttles. Also birds are absolutely free. And we need many thousand years to realize this point”.
